TVA to pay Kingston coal ash spill victims $27.8M


The Tennessee Valley Authority has agreed to pay $27.8 million to settle claims with more than 800 property owners affected by the one of the largest man-made environmental disasters in U.S. history.

Roane Co. kids benefit from Boys and Girls Club


Six months into operation, the Roane County Boys and Girls Club says it is a success.

The Roane County club found a home in Harriman a year ago but officially opened up to kids this January.

Kids who visit the club can play and get a healthy meal.

Roane County kids can also learn lessons about character.

Missing witness leads to dropped murder charges

A missing witness has forced authorities to drop charges against a man wanted for a Roane County murder.

The Deputy District Attorney says they asked the court to dismiss the murder charges against Ralph O'Neal because they can't find one of their witnesses.

Authorities originally charged O'Neal with the 2007 murder of Ronnie "Boone" Cofer.

O'Neal will return to federal prison because he's already serving a life sentence on drug convictions.
