Overturned semi blocks right lane of I-40 E. in Roane Co.


(WBIR) An overturned tractor trailer has blocked the right lane of Interstate 40 eastbound in Roane County Monday morning.

The accident was reported near mile marker 341 shortly before 2:15 a.m. The Tennessee Department of Transportation SmartWay map reported that the accident blocked the right lane running eastbound.

TDOT expects crews to clear the overturned semi by 2 p.m.

Circuit judge expected to rule on same-sex divorce case

Rocky Houston sentenced to 9 years in prison


(WBIR) Rocky Houston will spend the next 9 years in prison after a federal jury convicted him on a federal gun charge

At the start of Thursday's sentencing hearing, Houston fired his lawyer and defended himself.

The federal judge gave Houston the maximum sentence: about nine years in prison and three years supervised release. During his supervised release, Houston must get mental health treatment.

Crews are still clearing boxes and debris that spilled onto I-40 East in Roane County during an early morning crash Monday, involving two tractor trailers.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol have reopened the left lane near mile marker 341, but the other lanes remain closed.
