2 former non-profit directors indicted on theft charges in Roane Co.
A Roane County grand jury has indicted two former non-profit directors on theft charges. The indictments follow a TBI investigation that began in September 2010, after the district attorney general's office learned of possible misuse of funds at Community Health Network, or CHN.
The state comptroller's office performed an audit that found Director Keith Williams and Assistant Director Paul Monroe mismanaged more than $1.2 million in federal grant funds. Prosecutors say Williams gave himself an unauthorized bonus of more than $80,000, and Monroe wrote himself a $10,000 bonus.
