Pastor's wife shares account of knife-wielding woman at church

The wife of a Roane County church pastor is sharing her account of an incident involving a woman who approached her wielding a knife following a recent service.

Judy Beverly said the Wednesday night service had ended at Potter's House Fellowship Church on Patton Lane in Harriman when the incident took place.

She said she was speaking to another church member when the suspect, a woman who had received ministry at the church in the past, approached her.

Beverly said at that point someone warned her that the suspect, 31-year-old Gina Mueller, was carrying a knife. Beverly said she ran, and other church members subdued Mueller.

Contradicting Harriman police accounts, Beverly said at no time did she and Mueller argue. Beverly said she had not even realized Mueller was there before she was warned about the knife.

Before police arrived and arrested Mueller, Beverly said she saw Mueller holding the knife to her throat.

The church's pastor, Kyle Beverly, said Mueller had attended church there in the past and was "troubled."

Mueller is charged with aggravated assault.  She's due in court on October 29.
