Kingston breaks ground on solar farm
News

(WBIR) A new solar farm is going up in Kingston, and city leaders say it will save taxpayers money in the long run.

The city broke ground on the project at the corner of James Ferry Road and Highway 58 on Monday morning.

The solar farm will generate 200 kilowatts of power and will include 800 solar panels. The city says the sunlight the panels will collect will generate enough electricity to off-set the power needs of the Kingston Water Plant.
