Kingston Police have arrested a man who used a machete to rob a gas station over the weekend.

According to a release, Thomas Joshua Branham, was charged with aggravated robbery in connection to the Saturday night incident at an Exxon gas station on East Race Street in Kingston.

Surveillance cameras showed a man walk into the store armed with a machete. He then demanded money from the clerk on duty and fled the scene.

Kingston Police Department said he's being held at the Roane County Jail.

Kingston police are searching for the man who robbed a gas station Saturday night.

In a release, the Kingston Police Department says an unidentified man armed with a machete walked into an Exxon gas station on E. Race Street at 9:37 p.m. He demanded money from the clerk on duty, then fled the scene on foot.

Officials said the suspect was carrying a green, possibly camouflage backpack at the time.
