Pinwheels represent importance of Child Abuse Prevention Month

A display at an East Tennessee courthouse is shining a message of hope and progress while pushing to protect children.

More than 100 pinwheels are spinning throughout the month of April on the lawn of the Roane County Courthouse. The Child Advocacy Center of the Ninth Judicial District put them there to share the importance of Child Abuse Prevention Month.

Rockwood Police warn of phone call scam

The Rockwood Police Department is warning people of a scammer who is impersonating a police officer and asking for money.

Police Chief Stephen Rowe says more than 20 people have received calls from the scammer. Rowe says the caller identifies himself as John Davis, a lieutenant with the Rockwood Police Department.

Rowe says "Davis" is telling people they have an outstanding warrant and they must send him $400.

Neighbors once again file suit against Tiger Haven

A group of Roane County residents who live near a big cat sanctuary are once again suing.

The four neighbors filed a lawsuit against Tiger Haven, citing noise, safety and health concerns. They are asking for up to $10 million dollars in damages and a jury trial.

Police arrest man suspected of flashing a child

(WBIR) Harriman police say they have arrested a man accused of exposing himself to a child.

James Tipton Lands, 53 of Kingston, is suspected of flashing a child Wednesday night inside the Harriman Kroger.

Surveillance cameras caught pictures of the man as he was walking out.

Police say they were able to make the arrest after numerous tips from the public after the photo was posted.
