Manson follower from Roane Co. denied parole

A Roane County High grad who was part of the Charles Manson cult will not be leaving prison anytime soon.

Bruce Davis was convicted on two counts of first-degree murder in the early '70s.

He was recently recommended for parole at his 27th parole hearing. His attorney says Davis has earned religious degrees while in jail, but California's governor says when the evidence is considered as a whole, it shows the 70-year-old still poses a danger to society.

"I just can't stand to see something starving," said Tina Pemberton, who said she has 11 cats, seven of them feral. "I've spent thousands of dollars that I don't have, I'm a piano teacher."

One-pot, which is also another name for "shake and bake" according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, allows meth producers to cook the drug quicker with less chemicals.
